Community Watch

The Somerset Place Homeowner's association, in an effort to keep our neighborhood a safe place, has established a Community Watch Program (CWP). We have been fortunate that we have not had any serious issues in our community. The CWP will help us keep things that way, but we need YOUR help!

The purpose of a Community Watch Program is:

Reducing the risk of being a crime victim
Being better prepared to respond to suspicious activity
Greater access to criminal activity information
Getting to know your neighbors
Reducing the fear of crime and making your neighborhood more livable
Allowing other issues to be addressed.

We have created several "blocks" within the community and each block will have a block captain.

The responsibilities of the block captains are as follows:

Distribute information received from the chariperson via telephone, email or newsletter
Create a block map with the current information of their neighbors (name, telephone, email)
Coordinate all activities for their block and neighbors they are responsible for
Greet new neighbors that move into the community and educate them on the CWP
Serve as a liaison between the chairperson and the neighbors they are responsible for
